  Question5 Campus Situation Topic: Problem/Solution

  The listening passage (60-90 sec; 180-220 words) is a conversation about a student-related problem and two possible solutions.

  The question asks the test taker to demonstrate understanding of the problem and to express an opinion about solving the problem.

  o Preparation time: 20 sec

  o Response time: 60 sec

  1、時間沖突: Time Conflict

  a. Problem of a time conflict between a and b

  *a與b的高頻:

  Work (part-time job) vs. Study (for a… test/exam)

  Play (visit/tour) vs. Study (for a… test/exam)

  b. Preference: ____=a balanced solution (既a又b)

  c. Reason:

  I think the man/woman should____(preference) because finding a balanced solution is the best way for him/her to do (a) and in the meantime/at the same time, do (b).   1、描述對話中所討論的問題

  2、說出自己偏向哪一個解決方案

  3、解釋為什么喜歡那個解決方案
 解釋時可以引用對話中的信息,也可以加入自己的經(jīng)歷(注意重點是對話中那人遇到的問題)

  1、該題往往會背要求作為拿分的項目,也是綜合口語部分唯一一個允許有個人觀點的題目。所以在聽力中,一定要記錄好那個學生的問題和解決的方案。

  2、 聽力時要注意:對話中描述的問題/沖突是什么如果解決問題(2 個解決方案)你覺得哪種方案好,為什么 Problem 往往不是單純的,而是復雜矛盾的,分幾個回合說完。

  3、 答題邏輯:PROBLEM+2 SOLUTIONS+PREFERENCE+WHY
 Solutions 針對 Problem 不同層面提出,注意提煉中心句。關切性的話可以略去。答題時在復述問題和解決方法后,一定要給出自己的建議,想不出來就選擇一個 S 提出的方案或把 S 提出的各種辦法按照輕重緩急排序,形式上不可缺少!一定要說“the man/woman offers her/him TWO(or THREE) solutions.”This is to ensure that you get all the solutions even if you can’t finish you answer in time, so the examiner will still give you a good score.

  4、 時間分配:The OPTIMAL time allotment is: 10 seconds for the problem, 17 seconds for each solution, and 10 seconds for your choice and why,and about 6 seconds pausing throughout your answer.

  5、問題不用聽!每次都一樣!省下 10-15 秒整理筆記。問題:“briefly describe the problem that was discussed in the conversation and to state which of the two solutions you prefer, and finally to explain why you prefer that solution”。
