My initial interest in the petroleum industry and geosciences stemmed from an epiphany I had whilst engaged in conversation with a young, successful Dutchman in Dubai. This man was a friend of my Fathers who was discussing with me the terms of a Shell sponsorship through University, and essentially who I would aspire to become.
I had always known about the attractiveness of the industry which my Father has been involved in for close to forty years and knew that it was where I would be "destined to pursue a career"; the only question was, in which field of work?
I have always been fascinated by and excelled in Geography and Physics. Having achieved the Geography prize in both Higher and Standard Grade, as well as merits in Physics. I have chosen to study Petroleum Geology/ Geosciences as it is a unique combination that will satisfy my interest and ability in both subjects and develop and nurture my skills to further aid my entry into the industry.
My love of the Earth's natural Geography has long affected my ambitions outside of school. Skiing, scuba diving and fell running have taken me to some of the most awe inspiring places on the planet in pursuit of experiencing and seeing new things, as well as excelling my passion for travel. I have visited the Alps, Caucus mountains, Cancun and Dubai pursuing these activities. I also play Volleyball with the Bon Accord men's team and attend weekly training sessions. I have also captained my schools volleyball team. Another of my interests I adopted at an early age was athletics. I was dedicated to my training for five years and won many prized awards, including a Gold medal in high jump at the Scottish East District Championships, and fifteenth place in the Scottish Cross Country Championships. My completion of The Duke of Edinburgh Award to the extent of Gold Award is one of my most prided achievements. It has matured me and taught me many invaluable life skills such as the importance of respect, responsibility, dedication and team work. As part of my award I was nominated after application and interview by Laurencekirk and District Rotary Club to be their representative for the 2008 R.Y.L.A young leaders' camp. This involved me spending one week with 60 other nominated "young leaders" at the Abernethy Outdoor centre participating in an abundance of team based activities ranging from kayaking to rock climbing. This greatly improved my abilities in leadership as well as operating as part of a group in stressful situations. Another of my achievements I pride myself upon is my position as senior prefect and my awards as both prefect of the term and year. This position involves me along with my partner leading a team of 18 prefects and helping the senior management team by representing the school in various areas of the school system.
My varied record of work experiences has taught me a lot about myself and the "real world". Being a silver service waiter and barman at Drumtochty Castle, one of Scotland's most prestigious wedding venues has greatly improved my communication and social skills, and my seasonal job as a potato roager has taught me the ethic of hard work and persistence.

韓國留學(xué)申請條件2021
國籍
申請者本人與父母須均為非韓國國籍的外國人。任何一方為韓國國籍都不能申請外國人特別入學(xué)。
學(xué)歷
本科新入：韓國境內(nèi)外正規(guī)高中畢業(yè)生，或具有同等水平以上的學(xué)歷者(職高、中專、技校畢業(yè)者)。
申請季開學(xué)前預(yù)畢業(yè)者，高三在讀生(會考全部合格者)學(xué)歷，會考成績也就是學(xué)業(yè)水平綜合考試，通過后確保畢業(yè)后能拿到畢業(yè)證。
本科插班：插班生需要大專畢業(yè)，或者本科完成二個學(xué)期以上的課程。
注意：
1.大學(xué)專科→畢業(yè)或預(yù)畢業(yè)，同時要看前置學(xué)歷是普高還是同等學(xué)歷，像高麗大學(xué)只承認(rèn)普通高中學(xué)歷者申請。
2.全日制本科→本科完成二個學(xué)期以上的課程，同時也要看前置學(xué)歷是普高還是其他同等學(xué)歷。
3.5年一貫制大專→畢業(yè)或預(yù)畢業(yè)5年一貫制大專一般沒有前置學(xué)歷，可以申請的學(xué)校也受限制。所以要確定能夠申請的學(xué)校再申請。
語言能力
每個學(xué)校都有對韓國或者英語成績的具體要求。
申請本科的話，一般是韓語要求，T O PIK3級及以上，藝術(shù)體育類專業(yè)2級就可以。如果達(dá)到4級，錄取率會大大提高。
韓國留學(xué)申請材料
國籍證明材料
眾所周知，韓國留學(xué)中，如果你想以外國人身份報考，那么不僅本人必須是外國國籍，父母也必須不能是韓國籍才可以，所以，我們就需要證明三個人的國籍身份。
學(xué)歷證明材料
學(xué)歷證明材料是留學(xué)準(zhǔn)備中最為關(guān)鍵、重要的一環(huán)。學(xué)歷證明主要分為公證和認(rèn)證，認(rèn)證又分領(lǐng)事認(rèn)證以及教育部認(rèn)證，每個認(rèn)證處理的機(jī)構(gòu)都是不同的。具體包括高中畢業(yè)證認(rèn)證、高中會考成績認(rèn)證、高考成績認(rèn)證、本科畢業(yè)證、學(xué)位證公證，成績單公證(部分學(xué)校要求認(rèn)證)、教育部學(xué)歷查詢報告、教育部學(xué)歷學(xué)位認(rèn)證等。
家庭關(guān)系證明材料
這部分主要是為了證明本人和父母的家庭關(guān)系，對于大部分家庭來說，只需要提供戶口本即可，即證明你是父親或者母親的兒子和女兒，俗稱親屬關(guān)系證明，一般來說只有的機(jī)構(gòu)才可以出這個證明。
語言能力證明材料
大部分學(xué)校在申請時有明確要求提交語言成績的，那么我們在提交材料時必須將語言成績一起提交。
存款證明材料
目前90%以上的韓國大學(xué)，在申請時都需要提交存款證明材料，一般來說，語學(xué)院需要的存款證明是8萬元，本科、研究生的是15萬元，存款證明建議開在本人名義下，這樣的話提交材料時會比較方便。
推薦信(部分學(xué)校)
部分學(xué)校會要求提交出身大學(xué)的推薦信，那么我們就需要聯(lián)系關(guān)系比較好的教授去準(zhǔn)備，推薦信一般來說是自由格式，但需要用英語或韓語進(jìn)行完成，并且裝入信封中，簽字密封提交，只有這樣學(xué)校才可以認(rèn)可。
校內(nèi)外獲獎證明、工作實(shí)習(xí)經(jīng)歷
這部分材料基本上沒有學(xué)校是硬性要求提交的，但是如果你有，提交對錄取加分，如果是中文的證書，沒有辦法直接提交，需要翻譯公證后才可以，建議提交跟自己報考專業(yè)相關(guān)的證書，加分會更多一些。
