　　成長(zhǎng)之路The Road to Grow Up

　　Before I was five years old, my parents gave me what I wanted, but as I became bigger, they changed their attitude towards me. My parents no longer satisfy me with all I want. When I want to buy a new dress, my mother won’t buy for me directly, she asks me to do something to exchange for it. Such as doing the housework or making progress in the study. What’s more, when I meet the difficulties, my parents won’t solve them for me immediately, instead, they will leave me to think about them and help me to solve them. What my parents do to me is right, it is my road to grow up.

　　在我五歲以前，我的父母給予我想要的東西，但是隨著我長(zhǎng)大，他們對(duì)待我的態(tài)度發(fā)生了改變。我的父母不再滿足我想要的一切。當(dāng)我想要買一條新裙子，媽媽不會(huì)立刻買給我，她會(huì)要求我去做一些事情，以此來(lái)交換。比如做家務(wù)或者學(xué)習(xí)上有所進(jìn)步。而且，當(dāng)我遇到困難了，我的父母不會(huì)立刻幫我解決，相反地，他們讓我自己思考問(wèn)題，然后幫助我解決。父母對(duì)我做的是正確的，這是我的成長(zhǎng)之路。

　　你會(huì)幫助跌倒老人嗎?Will You Help the Elderly Who Fell?

　　It seems like a silly question, anyone in sane would give a hand to the elderly who fell. But in China, this question is becoming tricky. Many news report that there are some old people not just fell, they do it on purpose. Usually, they walk on a crowdy street, and pretend to faint or just lay down on the ground, intend to accuse the one who comes to help as a perpetrator and blackmail him/her for the treatment fee. Many people have fell for that and had to pay as there is no witness to prove their innocence. As for these negative news, people is afraid to help those old people in need, that makes some of them who are in real trouble could not get help in time. I once asked one of my friends: “Why the old people turn bad? If you see one in the street, would you help?” He said: “It is not the old people turn bad, it is the bad people turn old. I will video him/her to make a statement first, then decide if I would help.”

　　這似乎是個(gè)愚蠢的問(wèn)題,任何清醒的人遇到跌倒的老人都會(huì)伸出援助之手。但在中國(guó)，這個(gè)問(wèn)題變得棘手。很多新聞報(bào)道說(shuō)有些老人不只是跌倒而已，他們是故意這么做的。通常他們會(huì)走到人潮涌動(dòng)的街頭，假裝暈倒或者是直接躺在地上，想要指控那些來(lái)幫助他的人為肇事者，敲詐他們要治療費(fèi)。很多人都上當(dāng)了，由于沒(méi)有目擊者證明他們的清白，他們被迫支付了費(fèi)用。正因?yàn)檫@些負(fù)面新聞，人們害怕去幫助那些需要幫助的老人，也因此造成了那些真正有困難的老人沒(méi)有得到及時(shí)的幫助。我曾經(jīng)問(wèn)我一個(gè)朋友：“為什么現(xiàn)在的老人變壞了?如果你在街上看到這樣的老人你會(huì)幫助嗎?”他說(shuō)：“不是老人變壞了，是壞人變老了。我會(huì)先錄像讓他做一個(gè)聲明，再?zèng)Q定是否幫助他。”

　　There is a saying that man proposes, goddisposes, which means man plan the things and the rest of the outcome lies inthe luck. This saying reflects the connection between hard-work and luck, whichis though sometimes we have worked so hard, luck occupies great position, theunexpected things happen and refrain us from succeeding. In order to besuccessful, people work so hard, they believe they can achieve their goals, butlacking luck stops them achieving their goals. So working hard doesn’t meanbringing people success directly, they just need to try more times, withoutluck, they still can make their goals. Luck can help people close to success,without hard-work, they can’t be successful. Hard-work and luck make peoplerealize their goals, but without luck, people still can make it by trying moretimes.

　　有一句話說(shuō)謀事在人，成事在天，意思是人們計(jì)劃事情，剩下的結(jié)果依賴于運(yùn)氣。這句話反應(yīng)了努力和運(yùn)氣之間的聯(lián)系，那就是雖然有時(shí)候我們很努力工作，但是運(yùn)氣也占據(jù)了很重要的位置，意外的事情會(huì)發(fā)生，阻擋人們成功。為了取得成功，人們努力工作，他們相信能達(dá)到目標(biāo)，但是運(yùn)氣的缺失讓他們無(wú)法達(dá)到自己的目標(biāo)。因此努力并不意味著能直接給人們帶來(lái)成功，他們需要多試幾次，沒(méi)有運(yùn)氣，人們?nèi)匀豢梢赃_(dá)到目標(biāo)。運(yùn)氣幫助人們接近成功，沒(méi)有努力付出，無(wú)法成功。努力和運(yùn)氣能讓人們實(shí)現(xiàn)目標(biāo)，但是沒(méi)有運(yùn)氣，人們多嘗試幾次，也能終將辦到。
