My colleague Jenny was the answer to the question. She is a warm-hearted and smart girl. The first two months in my current company was a hard time when I met all kinds of difficulties. Jenny saw through my awkwardness and uneasiness in the first week because I was always the latest one to leave. One day she seemed to intentionally wait for me for a long time to go with her and asked me what she could do for me. Since we were in the same department, I was very thankful to her kindness. I expressed my confusions and helplessness of my work. She gave me some useful advice and time management plans. Offering her working experience, she showed a great sense of understanding to my situations. In the following days, she even encouraged me to communicate with other colleagues. Everything began to be on track since then.

I once asked Jenney that why she was willing to offer me so much help during that time. She said she thought that I was a great and ambitious girl. And more importantly, I looked like her little sister. Oh my god. It’s my look that plays a role! However, I will appreciate her kindness all the time. The story told me to be more open minded to a new environment. There are always nice guys who are willing to make contacts with you. Moreover, try to become a warm-hearted and enthusiastic person just like Jenny. Be a torch that will illuminate others’ dark sky, which is also worthwhile to remember when you are old.

“課堂提問(wèn)”在教學(xué)過(guò)程中是一個(gè)常見(jiàn)的環(huán)節(jié),想必各位并不陌生,但是關(guān)于其有效性,不知道大家是否有所體會(huì)。參加了英國(guó)文化教育協(xié)會(huì)雅思教師培訓(xùn)課程 (British Council IELTS Teachers Essentials)后,我深刻認(rèn)識(shí)到了這一點(diǎn)在雅思口語(yǔ)教學(xué)中的重要性。

然而,在呈現(xiàn)“提問(wèn)”的方式方法之前,很有必要先談?wù)撘幌抡n堂提問(wèn)的原因和必要性。

首先,在口語(yǔ)課上,大多數(shù)的雅思學(xué)員在面對(duì)某些問(wèn)題的時(shí)候,無(wú)法充分展開(kāi)回答,或存在一定程度上的思維定勢(shì),即使背誦了萬(wàn)千詞匯,也很難發(fā)揮出它們的價(jià)值。此時(shí)老師們可以通過(guò)提問(wèn)的方式,幫助學(xué)生打通思路,從而更好地展示自己的英語(yǔ)口語(yǔ)交流能力。

第二,講完一個(gè)知識(shí)點(diǎn)或上完一堂課后,如果僅僅是老師自己總結(jié),學(xué)生可能沒(méi)有辦法充分吸收課程的精髓。此時(shí)也可以通過(guò)提問(wèn)的方式,讓學(xué)生參與進(jìn)來(lái),并且以此來(lái)檢驗(yàn)教學(xué)效果。

第三,對(duì)于學(xué)生的錯(cuò)誤表達(dá),如果教師只是單純地指出,學(xué)生很可能不會(huì)意識(shí)到自己的問(wèn)題所在。相反,運(yùn)用提問(wèn)的方式,可以讓學(xué)生更加深刻地意識(shí)到自己的語(yǔ)言問(wèn)題,并牢記在心。

既然“課堂提問(wèn)”如此重要,如何操縱才能行之有效呢?為此,筆者總結(jié)了一些自己在口語(yǔ)課堂里經(jīng)常使用的三種提問(wèn)方式,并結(jié)合具體實(shí)例,供大家參考。

1.“WH-提問(wèn)”

所謂“WH-”,即以“Wh-”開(kāi)頭的特殊疑問(wèn)詞,分別是“When, Where, Who, What, and How”。這種方式特別適用于幫助學(xué)生拓展思路、豐富表達(dá)。

比如:在回答問(wèn)題’Do you like watching TV’? 的時(shí)候,多數(shù)學(xué)生僅以’I think it’s very interesting’ 擴(kuò)充答案;而在回答’Do you like reading books’?時(shí),學(xué)生們又不約而同地想到’It can help me to acquire some knowledge and broaden my horizons’。這樣的答案較為普遍,而且層次單一,很難取得更好的分?jǐn)?shù)。

這個(gè)時(shí)候,可以運(yùn)用不同的“Wh-”開(kāi)頭的問(wèn)題詢問(wèn)學(xué)生,幫助他們拓展思路,并更有邏輯地展開(kāi)回答。針對(duì)剛才提到的學(xué)生們給出的兩個(gè)答案。教師可以運(yùn)用這種方式提問(wèn)學(xué)生。

例如,當(dāng)聽(tīng)到學(xué)生認(rèn)為看電視’interesting’的時(shí)候,可以緊接著提問(wèn)他/他們:’How’s interesting?’;同理,當(dāng)學(xué)生回應(yīng)“讀書(shū)可以幫助他們?cè)鲩L(zhǎng)知識(shí)、開(kāi)闊眼界”的時(shí)候,可以順勢(shì)問(wèn)他/他們:’What kinds of knowledge do you find most useful?’ 這樣學(xué)生會(huì)根據(jù)自己的情況展開(kāi)討論,說(shuō)起話來(lái)也會(huì)更加流利自然,不會(huì)因此而導(dǎo)致交流中斷。

2. “定向”提問(wèn)

這里的“定向”指的是根據(jù)某一個(gè)具體內(nèi)容提出具有固定答案的問(wèn)題。學(xué)生在回答這類問(wèn)題的時(shí)候,比較容易給出答案,而且教師也可以即時(shí)判斷答案的正確性。

一般這種提問(wèn)方式多用于課堂總結(jié),教師可以此來(lái)檢驗(yàn)教學(xué)成果,而學(xué)生也能以此進(jìn)行查漏補(bǔ)缺。通常這類問(wèn)題設(shè)計(jì)得都比較顯而易見(jiàn),能即刻抓住重點(diǎn)信息,不會(huì)占用太多的時(shí)間。

比如:在講完雅思口語(yǔ)考試流程后,我通常會(huì)針對(duì)三個(gè)部分的重點(diǎn)內(nèi)容進(jìn)行這樣的提問(wèn),比如:’Do you think the examiner will answer some questions in the first part of one speaking test? ‘In the second part, do you think the examiner will stop us after we speak 40 seconds? ’What kinds of questions you will be asked in the third part of one speaking test, questions about yourself or other people?’

在回答問(wèn)題的過(guò)程中,學(xué)生會(huì)自然而然地回顧所學(xué)到的知識(shí),也因此會(huì)對(duì)這些知識(shí)留下更加深刻地印象。一般來(lái)說(shuō),讓學(xué)生親身參與課堂,會(huì)比教師一味灌輸式地講解達(dá)到更好地學(xué)習(xí)效果。

3. “重復(fù)”提問(wèn)

“重復(fù)”提問(wèn)不是指針對(duì)于某個(gè)問(wèn)題的重復(fù),而是對(duì)于學(xué)生的錯(cuò)誤表達(dá)進(jìn)行重復(fù),讓學(xué)生自己發(fā)現(xiàn)問(wèn)題,并改正錯(cuò)誤。正如文章開(kāi)頭提到的,很多時(shí)候,如果教師直接改正學(xué)生的語(yǔ)言問(wèn)題,很可能導(dǎo)致這些錯(cuò)誤再次重現(xiàn)。

為了讓學(xué)生們更好地意識(shí)到自己的語(yǔ)言問(wèn)題,建議老師們可以采取這樣的方式進(jìn)行提問(wèn)。記得有一次在學(xué)生進(jìn)行課堂討論的時(shí)候,我聽(tīng)到了一個(gè)學(xué)生說(shuō)了這樣一句話:’I’m like listening to music…’,并且在后面的對(duì)話中重復(fù)了兩三次類似的表達(dá)。

聽(tīng)罷,我走到學(xué)生身邊,輕身地問(wèn)了她一句: ‘I’m like listening to music?’ 想了幾秒鐘,這個(gè)學(xué)生很快意識(shí)到了自己的問(wèn)題,并且即刻糾正。在接下來(lái)的幾個(gè)口語(yǔ)練習(xí)的環(huán)節(jié)里,我又關(guān)注了一下這個(gè)學(xué)生的表達(dá),發(fā)現(xiàn)她沒(méi)有再犯同樣的錯(cuò)誤。這說(shuō)明在一定程度上,她已經(jīng)意識(shí)到了這個(gè)問(wèn)題。

以上三種提問(wèn)方式在口語(yǔ)教學(xué)過(guò)程中都發(fā)揮了一定的積極作用。一方面,可以幫助學(xué)生進(jìn)步;另一方面,也可以幫助老師們更好地進(jìn)行教學(xué)。當(dāng)然在“提問(wèn)”的過(guò)程中,還要注意問(wèn)題的數(shù)量、提問(wèn)的對(duì)象以及提問(wèn)的方式,否則很可能會(huì)適得其反。

比如,在用“Wh-”提問(wèn)的時(shí)候,必要時(shí)需要控制題目的數(shù)量,否則會(huì)耽誤課程進(jìn)度。而且在提問(wèn)的過(guò)程中,也可以結(jié)合課堂教學(xué)內(nèi)容進(jìn)行一定的總結(jié),以便學(xué)生更好地消化吸收。另外,不論提出什么樣的問(wèn)題,大多數(shù)情況下,可以先向“集體”或“小組”提問(wèn),再向“個(gè)人”提問(wèn),這樣可以避免有些學(xué)生因?yàn)轭櫦懊孀踊虼疱e(cuò)題而喪失信心。

除此之外,在針對(duì)學(xué)生的語(yǔ)言錯(cuò)誤進(jìn)行提問(wèn)的時(shí)候,是否在聽(tīng)到錯(cuò)誤的一瞬間就打斷學(xué)生的回答,需要老師們考慮清楚。否則可能會(huì)令人感到此舉有點(diǎn)莽撞、不夠禮貌。

再者,如果反復(fù)提問(wèn)了幾次相同的問(wèn)題之后,學(xué)生都沒(méi)有意識(shí)到自己的錯(cuò)誤,那么教師有必要給予一定的解釋,幫助學(xué)生改正。

最后值得一提的是,問(wèn)題的設(shè)計(jì)要根據(jù)一個(gè)班學(xué)員的整體情況以及教學(xué)內(nèi)容而定,這樣才不會(huì)因?yàn)閱?wèn)題本身對(duì)學(xué)生和教師造成困擾,進(jìn)而影響教學(xué)質(zhì)量和學(xué)習(xí)進(jìn)度。

雅思口語(yǔ)高頻短語(yǔ)如何記憶

很多同學(xué)在學(xué)習(xí)短語(yǔ)的過(guò)程中,經(jīng)常遇到的問(wèn)題是很多短語(yǔ)要不記不住,要不短時(shí)間記住了考試的時(shí)候用不上短語(yǔ)記憶和單詞記憶一樣,關(guān)鍵是要使用。一個(gè)短語(yǔ)如果在不同語(yǔ)境下用3次以上,就會(huì)變成你的有效詞匯。如果你不斷使用,那么這個(gè)短語(yǔ)就會(huì)到脫口而出的程度。

因此,我建議的方式就是平時(shí)學(xué)了某些話題的短語(yǔ),你可以找到最近常考的一些part2題目,嘗試看一下這些短語(yǔ),能否編一個(gè)故事,套在這個(gè)part2的話題上,在這個(gè)過(guò)程中,某些短語(yǔ)就會(huì)得到很好的練習(xí)和使用。

我下面用一個(gè)例子來(lái)闡述,譬如說(shuō)我今天學(xué)了一些網(wǎng)絡(luò)商務(wù)的短語(yǔ)。那么我可以去找一下網(wǎng)絡(luò)上一些part2的題目,看看哪個(gè)涉及到電子商務(wù)的話題。譬如說(shuō)最近考的一個(gè)話題是關(guān)于你做過(guò)的一個(gè)有償工作,那么我就假設(shè)我在一個(gè)網(wǎng)店打過(guò)工,然后圍繞這個(gè)說(shuō)一下,復(fù)習(xí)一下網(wǎng)絡(luò)購(gòu)物的相關(guān)短語(yǔ)。然后再套用其他話題,譬如說(shuō)最近考的一個(gè)話題是成功的小公司。那么我就假想自己知道一個(gè)小的電子商務(wù)公司,做代購(gòu),最后很出名。

然后下面你可以對(duì)著題目說(shuō),在這個(gè)過(guò)程中,可以想想有什么短語(yǔ)可以用上去。一邊說(shuō)一邊寫(xiě)出來(lái)。這樣就等于使用了一些短語(yǔ)。
